Tacoma-Pierce Workforce Development Council Website

The Tacoma-Pierce County Workforce Development Council is the trustee body of the Workforce Development System. The WDC works on behalf of and in coordination with the local elected officials in Pierce County. The Council represents a broad cross section of the local community, interested in workforce development issues and oversees the implementation, local planning and management of the federal Workforce Investment Act in Pierce County.

Mission: The Workforce Development System mission is to provide access to and enhance delivery of workforce development services for job seekers and businesses.

Vision: The vision of the Workforce Development System is of a prosperous community that will include:

  • Partnerships that foster economic development

  • The equal, active and deliberate development of value-added business services and quality workforce

  • Responsive, convenient, valuable, efficient, customer-focused services

  • Efficient leveraging of existing resources

  • Effective communication within and outside of the workforce system

MICROSOFT ELEVATE AMERICA COMES TO WASHINGTON STATE!

Microsoft is partnering with WorkSource to offer free vouchers for online IT training courses to WorkSource customers in Washington. Vouchers are available through WorkSource centers across the state. (*Elevate America Vouchers do not cover IT Certification Exams).

Before obtaining a voucher, you'll need to choose a learning plan.

If you are New to Computers:
You do not need a voucher.  Just head to the
Microsoft website, click on the "register for Elevate America" link.  This will direct you to a simple registration form, and assist you in creating a windows Live ID.  Once you complete the registration form, you will be sent to a new web page that provides the learning plans available to you.

Vouchers are now only available in Person at either WorkSource Pierce or Lakewood WorkSource Affiliate:
